Where Did the Idea Come From?

Gail Carriger is full of fun and interesting names for her characters. Her latest series has inspired me to incorporate a new section into my blog about my favorite names. I'm not sure if I will ever use any of these, but perhaps if I ever get another dog, have a child, or need to name a video game character I will have a ready-made list of ideas. Bumbersnoot bum-ber-snoot - In Gail Carriger's series about a finishing school, Sophronia has an adorable pet dog mechanimal (its a robot). I think this would be a cute name for a pet.
Sophronia sah-fah-rone-e-ah - The lead character in Gail Carriger's finishing school series.
Akeldama ah-kal-dam-her- The name of a vampire Lord who seems to make a cameo appearance in all of Gail Carriger's books.
