UX Research Proposal

Evaluate a development teams’ key roles and identify high level processes for UI/UX implementation and testing. Create a paper, pattern library, and/or wiki to identify various methods, key elements, and techniques based on known criteria from clients and past proposals. Identify items missing from proposals and business case/use case for why the newly recommended elements should be implemented.

Overview Week 3 HCI Presentation - January 29th, 2016

All students (on-campus and online) must post at least 1 topic that the student would be interested to research and then write a short proposal. Submit at least one topic for proposal. Students can propose a project or a set of activities that are part of their current research, project for a different class, or project student is interested to implement/try in near future on campus or at work. All topics must be relevant to HCI. Later all students will read each other's topics and form teams (2 - 4 people) based on common interests. Each group will later write and submit one 2-page proposal that will describe the need and value of the proposed topic.

In 1985, Coke's domestic market share suffered not only at the hands of Pepsi but from a plethora of less expensive, private-label colas. The company quickly replaced its 99-year-old formula on April 23, 1985, with a sweeter, smoother version. It became the greatest marketing blunder since the Edsel. Millions of Coke fans were outraged. Corporate headquarters in Atlanta was besieged with letters, telegrams and phone calls. A grass-roots fan club was born, dedicated to bringing back ''old'' Coke.

On July 11, humiliated Coke executives brought back the old formula as ''Classic Coke.'' New Coke was renamed Coke II and faded into corporate history. Although the new formula is still sold in some markets, it accounts for less than one-tenth of 1 percent of all soft-drink sales.

Explain what HIPAA laws, PII and PHI are?

Could you please briefly explain what HIPPA laws, PII and PHI are? Many students in this class are not familiar with this terminology. Thanks!

The following terms are important if you plan to work on evaluations related to people, especially health related data. Most large organizations require you to take a training course or refresher related to the latest HIPAA Laws, how to properly manage data, how to protect it, and usually you are required to complete varying levels of background checks or clearances. Usually these same organizations require some level of CMMI training as well. 

Have patients’ quality of life improved following treatment? Is patient participation in our treatment program “responsible” for their improvement?

Since Clinians are often working with big data that has been obscured for HIPAA laws to protect PII and PHI, how do you suppose an evaluator could successfully evaluate the two qualitative questions you posed? This question is for the whole group.
